You may have noticed warning pictograms or statements such as “May cause an allergic reaction” on our labels. These aren't there by accident, they are required by law, and we’re here to explain why.
Even though our products are carefully crafted using eco-conscious, high-quality ingredients, we believe you deserve to understand exactly what you’re bringing into your space.
What is a CLP Label?
CLP stands for Classification, Labelling and Packaging, a European regulation (EC No. 1272/2008) that applies to any product containing certain substances, including natural ones.
This law requires product labels to include:
- Hazard pictograms
- Standard safety phrases (for skin, eye, or environmental contact)
- A list of ingredients that may cause allergic reactions
A CLP label does not mean the product is dangerous, it means it is clearly and responsibly labelled, in accordance with EU legislation.
Natural ≠ Harmless
Many natural ingredients contain compounds that can cause irritation or allergic reactions, even though they are safe under normal usage conditions.
Here are some common examples:

All of these are naturally occurring and frequently used in artisanal perfumery. We mention them because transparency matters.

- Place candles on heat-resistant or protected surfaces
- Do not apply fragrance oils directly to the skin or ingest products (especially liquid air fresheners)
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Recycle glass, metal, or cardboard containers after use
